Effective date: September 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Active Telephones, Inc. (“Active Telephones,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit our website or contact us through it. It applies only to this website. It does not cover information collected offline or the systems we install and support for our customers.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you use our contact form, we collect the information you enter:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your phone number and company or property name, if you provide them
  • The solution you are interested in, if you choose one
  • Your message

If you email or call us, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your contact details and the content of your message. If you have a customer account on our website, for example to view and approve quotes, we also keep the details of that account.

Website visits

Our website runs on the Odoo platform. When you visit, the platform records basic information about your visit so we can understand how the website is used, such as the pages you view, when you view them, your approximate country, your language setting, and how you arrived (for example a search engine or a link with campaign tags). Analytics never includes what you type into forms unless you send the form. We do not use visit information to identify you by name, and we do not combine it with information from other companies.

2. How we use information

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to your inquiries and provide the information, quotes or services you request
  • Operate, maintain and secure the website, including preventing spam, fraud and abuse
  • Understand which pages and services are useful so we can improve our website and content
  • Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights and the rights of others

We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for targeted (cross-context behavioral) advertising, and we do not use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

3. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Our website sets only its own (first-party) cookies:

CookiePurposeDuration
session_idKeeps your visit working, including forms and, if you have an account, keeping you signed in. Essential.Up to 7 days
frontend_langRemembers your language preference.Up to 1 year
visitor_uuidA random ID that lets the website recognize returning visitors for our visit statistics.Up to 1 year
odoo_utm_*Remembers the campaign or website that sent you to us, if the link included campaign tags.Up to 31 days

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, the contact form and account pages may not work. Third-party services described below may set their own cookies under their own policies.

4. Service providers and third parties

We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the website and communicate with you, and only as needed for those purposes:

  • Website platform and hosting (Odoo): our website and the messages you send through it are stored in our Odoo system and by its hosting provider on our behalf.
  • Email (Google Workspace): we reply to inquiries and send quotes through Google’s email service.
  • Google Fonts: our website’s fonts load from Google’s servers, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads.
  • Google Maps: our contact page includes an embedded Google map. When the map loads, Google may collect information such as your IP address and set cookies.

Google’s handling of information is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

The share buttons on our articles are plain links. LinkedIn, Facebook, X or your email app receive information only if you click one of them, and their own privacy policies then apply. Our website also links to other websites, which we do not control.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect the safety, rights or property of Active Telephones or others, or as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of business assets.

5. How long we keep information

  • Website visit records: kept for as long as they help us understand how the website is used, and periodically removed. We delete records about your visits on request.
  • Contact form messages, emails and quotes: kept for as long as needed to respond to you, provide our services and maintain business records. We delete them on request unless we are required to keep them.

6. Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections, access limited to authorized staff with individual accounts, and protections against automated abuse. No website or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, including under the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm whether we process your personal information and access it
  • Correct inaccurate personal information
  • Delete personal information
  • Get a copy of your personal information in a portable format
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information, targeted advertising and certain profiling (we do not do any of these)

To make a request, email info@activetelephones.com or call (203) 876-7978. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. An authorized agent may make a request for you with your permission. We will respond within 45 days; if we need more time, up to 45 additional days, we will tell you why.

If we decline your request, you may appeal by emailing us with the subject line “Privacy request appeal.” We will respond to appeals within 60 days. If you are not satisfied with the result, you may contact the Connecticut Attorney General.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals. Because we do not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising or track you across other websites, there is nothing for these signals to opt you out of. Our own visit statistics still record visits as described above; you can prevent this by blocking cookies and contacting us to delete existing records.

9. Children’s privacy

Our website is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page. If we make significant changes, we will make them clear on our website.
